Chlebíčky
Chlebíčky or Little breads have taken a respectable place in Czech cuisine as they can be consumed for breakfast, lunch or any time of the day as a quick bite. These open-faced sandwiches are not made from normal bread but from roll-like, bigger pastry called veka ( similar to French baguette) , sliced and garnished with all sorts of toppings that can be ham of all sorts, boiled egg, salads, cheeses, pickled veggies, even fish.
They are usually seasoned with a bit of mayo and are very commonly served in parties & social gatherings. In general, they are a very popular fast food snack and are even sold in specialized shops called bufet or chlebíčkárna (“little bread shop”).
