Fenalår

Fenalår Norway’s answer to the Spanish Serrano Ham…you know, the one that is always hung above the kitchen or bar of every traditional Spanish pub that respects itself..that one. The Norwegian version is also made from salted & dried meat but not pig’s meat like the Spanish one, but from mutton’s thigh and is also seen hanging from the ceiling in Oslo delis and food markets.

It is served boneless and thin sliced, kind like lamb prosciutto, only slightly drier and smokier. You will only need a slice of bread and it can be found in any supermarket pre-packaged and vacuum sealed. If you are a lover of prosciutto you’ll surely love this.
