A few steps away from the Rådhuset lies the building of the former west railway station Oslo Vestbanestasjon which from 2005 is the building of the Nobel Peace Center Museum. The station remained in use until 1989, when all traffic was moved to the new Central Station after the opening of the Oslo tunnel.
