Lëtzebuerg City Museum

A breath away from the Grand Ducal Palace lies one of the main museums of the city and probably the best way to delve into Luxembourg’s thousand-year-long history. The Musée d’Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg or Lëtzebuerg City Museum is consisted of two parts: the floor below the entrance level that houses the permanent exhibition, where the capital’s economic, social, political, and architectural point of view is displayed in a manner that provides the visitor with an insight into the changing day-to-day life of the population.

The upper levels are reserved for temporary exhibitions. The building itself is a combination of the architecture found in the old Bock fortress with modern wood and glass structures like the glass-walled lift. The series of creative and intelligently designed multimedia elevate the whole experience.
