Casino Luxembourg
The former Casino Bourgeois, the Casino Luxembourg today, the Neo-Baroque building that was erected at the end of the 19th century, adorned with Art-Deco elements is today a center of prestigious exhibitions of modern international art. The casino was completed in 1882 and in addition to its gaming activities also had a reading room, a restaurant, and several large halls used for lectures, ball plays, and concerts that were all incorporated into its current function.
The casino also houses a public library and reading room today, known as the info lab, containing 7000 publications on the history of art since the 1960s, 50 portfolios on Luxembourg artists & 40 international magazines on contemporary art and culture. Numerous artists known today have benefited from the first major monographic presentation at the Casino Luxembourg. More
