Visit an outdoor market. There are a number of different product markets with stalls selling organic produce, fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, flowers, and spices. Every Wednesday & Saturday on Place Guillame II and Place de Paris from 7.30 to 13.00 you can find a farmer’s market selling fresh local and regional produce while an Antiques Market takes place every second & fourth Saturday of the month from 9.00 to 14.00 on the Place d’Armes in the city center, selling antiques, second hand & collectible items that may surprise you.

The Christmas Market (Chreschmaart) takes place annually on the Place d’Armes as well for two weeks before Christmas day. The market has mostly souvenirs, gifts and food and tends to be very busy during lunchtime or after working hours. Most Luxembourg food and drink specialties including Glühwäin (mulled wine) are available. The city of Luxembourg has also established the Winterlights Festival of lights and Animation (from November 22 until January 12) that illuminates the heart of the city in a magical, romantic decor that pairs perfectly with its Christmas markets scattered all around the city, the carousels, the parades, shows and Christmas concerts.
