Katolas

Just behind the Central Municipal Market the descending steps will bring you to one of the city’s prettiest streets known as Katolas packed with small shops for anything one can think of, ranging from designer clothes, sportswear & jewelry to smart souvenirs. It’s also a neighborhood full of beautiful new cafes and small restaurants. In case you are into tattoos then this is also the place for you. Check out Our favorite.

Most of the old structures that line the pedestrianized streets of this neighborhood have been revamped and beautified, giving an extra dose of charm to the whole area, which is one of the best to walk around, without having to worry about cars and traffic. Which makes it ideal to walk around with your kids.

As in the neighborhood of Splantzia that lies to its east and north side, this is an area where most old apartments are currently turned into short-term rentals. The popularity of the whole area which spans from the Old Agora to the sea of the old port makes it a no-brainer for anyone seeking for an Airbnb or a small investment in tourism. The whole area skyrocketed in value when the streets were turned into a pedestrian zone that connected the Trimartiri square, Chalydon Street with Tsoyderon Street (part of Katolas), and the rest of the charming small alleys of this zone.
