Visit one of Bordeaux’s Chateaus

Visit one of Bordeaux’s Chateaus. What would a visit to Bordeaux be without a visit to at least one of the wine Chateaus of the region? Medoc is one of the most famous areas with its territory encompassing classified growing areas like Pauillac, Margaux, St. Julien & St. Estephe & some of France’s most ancient & important Chateaus. Medoc is the region that managed to have 4 out of 5 chateaus in the famous Bordeaux Wine official classification of 1855 when Emperor Napoleon requested a classification system for France’s best Bordeaux wines in the category of reds.

The region north of Bordeaux is home to more than 1500 vineyards with Châteuau Latour, Lafite-Rothschild, Châteuau Margaux & Mouton-Rothschild being the most famous. Countless guided tours are provided. Bordeaux Wine Trails offers some of the best and most enjoyable in the region whether you’re interested in a minivan group tour, or a private wine tour to customize your Bordeaux city break. They even offer Bike wine tours from Bordeaux to Saint-Emilion which is twice the joy (given that you don’t overestimate your ability to cycle with a bit of wine in your system)
