Schnitzel
Schnitzel. You don’t really need us to tell you about the famous schnitzel. It’s undoubtedly the star of most menus in the German-speaking world and a favorite in many countries around the globe. The crunchy breaded fillet is usually a piece of thin sliced veal or pork but it can also be chicken.
The meat is coated with flour, dipped in egg wash, rolled in bread crumbs, and fried. It is traditionally served with a slice of lemon and fried potatoes. It can also be served with mashed potatoes and pickled veggies. You also don’t need us to tell you that schnitzel needs a cold German beer on the side if you want to feel like a king or a queen.
