Palau Güel

Palau Güel is a relatively recent example of what can be accomplished when wealth is combined with artistic brilliance. This historically repeated pattern of rich patrons of art, that help finance masterpieces, is in this case perfectly expressed in this mansion designed by Gaudí for the industrial tycoon Eusebi Güel, the man who discovered Gaudí.

Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Works of Antoni Gaudí” this palace is a great place to immerse yourself in Gaudi’s unique ingenuity & admire one of his first works. Although not one of his most famous works it is often described as one of his greatest masterpieces. We would suggest you take The Secret Palau Güell tour that allows visitors to see the places normally hidden from public view. The history and everyday life of the Güell family thread their way through this tour of the palace’s most private places.

“The hidden side of Palau Güell” is a journey of discovery through the most hidden corners of Palau through a group of original images by the photographer Ramon Manent, who specializes in portraits of art and architecture. Palau Güell brings back this exhibition, touring since 2017, which makes visible spaces and details of the building that are not accessible to visitors during the tour.

Manent transports us to a different reality, hidden within the four walls of this building. And he projects, through the lens of his camera, the special primitive conception of space and light to show us hidden fragments of the most unknown Palau Güell. More
