Oliebollen

Oliebollen (literally oil balls) are traditional Dutch treats made from eggs, flour, yeast, milk, baking powder & salt quite similar in taste with donuts. They are served at New Year’s Eve or during winter holidays. The mix of dough is formed like a little ball & dropped into a frying pan with hot oil. Sometimes it also contains dried fruits like raisins. Finally the little globes are powdered with sugar. You can find Oliebollen at one of the mobile street carts or if you can hit the Sweetella (http://www.sweetella.nl/) at Warmoesstraat 53, a place famous for its desserts.
