Spend a sunny day at Vondelpark
Spend a sunny day at Vondelpark. The largest green space area in Amsterdam is the park named after its most famous poet, writer & playwright, Joost van den Vondel (1587-1679) whose epic poem Joannes de Boetgezant (1662), based on the life of John the Baptist, is considered to be the greatest of its kind by the Dutch. Vondelpark is the perfect place for a picnic, cycling or skating on its several paths, or just a revitalizing walk through the rose garden or the park sculptures, one of them being the work of Pablo Picasso.
The open-air theater with shows and concerts taking place during the sunny months, several bar-restaurants, cafes, the Film-museum, six play areas for children & the picturesque English-style garden park, guarantee a diversified recreation for both children and adults, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
