Rosolje
Rosolje. Beetroot, potatoes and herring in one. Interesting and tasty, this popular pinkish salad is served as a side dish and is a perfect match for fish as well as meat. In fact, it is mostly preferred as a side dish for sausages. It is also found in Sweden as sillsallad.
A great place for Rosolje is Ristikheinakohvik a cozy cake shop / café to have coffee and breakfast in the morning, to enjoy Rosolje in the afternoon, and a fresh cake in the evening. Ristikheinakohvik started in autumn 2014. Today there are a total of three cafes – in Pelgulinn on the corner of Ristiku and Timuti Streets, on the ground floor of the Balti Jaam Market and in the heart of Tartu Road. Some of the comments on Tripadvisor are: “Really nice cosy place with a lot of different options for breakfast and lunch. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Very friendly service.” “For me it’s almost impossible not to drop in and have at least a cup of coffee. The cakes taste like heaven and the lunches are tasty and healthy. Love the service and nice atmosphere all over, lovely personnel! ”
