Caldo Verde

Caldo Verde is a thick cabbage & potato soup served with a slice of pork sausage & it’s a must-have in Lisbon, especially during the winter. Seemingly a simple soup one should think there’s only one recipe but there are some that like it potatoey with just a hint of cabbage & those who like it more as a cabbage stew. There are also some that like it without chouriço (Portuguese sausage). However you cook it, this is certainly the most famous soup in the country.
