Vinothek by Geisel (Wine)
The Vinothek by Geisel is the charming wine bar in Munich between Karlsplatz (Stachus) and the main train station. The owners of the wine-bar share a great passion with their guests: the enthusiasm for good food and excellent wines. Countless open and bottled wines from all over the world make up a selection that is unparalleled in Munich. We also serve homemade pasta and other Mediterranean-inspired specialties.
Wine lovers will feel very much at home in the Vinothek by Geisel, after all there is a suitable item on our wine list for every taste and every vinological preference. Up to 20 grape varieties in the open bar, around 800 bottles of wine … and we get these from renowned as well as from aspiring winemakers and wineries from all parts of the world.
Our restaurant could hardly be closer to Munich life. A visit to the vinotheque is a good idea if you are strolling through the pedestrian zone between Karlsplatz (Stachus) and Munich Central Station and spontaneously feel an appetite for a small snack. From Monday to Saturday we open at 12:00 noon and are open continuously until 1:00 a.m. (Sunday from 6:00 p.m.). A crostini or a portion of thinly sliced St. Daniele ham will satisfy the little hunger. Afterwards, your city tour through downtown Munich continues seamlessly and strengthened. Marienplatz, Old Town Odeonsplatz are no more than 15 minutes away on foot. A meal or a glass of wine in the vinotheque is also a good way to get in the mood for Munich’s nightlife.
