Caracois

Caracois. A typical Portuguese snack food, extremely popular in Lisbon caracois (snails), normally eaten between June and August. Portuguese snails are quite small and simply boiled with garlic and herbs. Simple as that accompanied by an imperial (cold draft larger) in an outdoor cafe or bar, after a hot day under the sun, the snack is unbeatable & very characteristically local.
