Font Mágica

The fountain at the feet of Palau Nacional known as Font Mágica is an attraction on itself. The Font Mágica fountain built in 1929 as one of the main attractions for the Barcelona World Fair is one of the most famous spots in Barcelona.

The Magic Fountain was the first synchronised, water – music – light show in the world & is still the area of the yearly scene of music & fireworks spectacle every September 24, the feast day of La Mercè, the feast of Barcelona’s patron saint (the Virgin of Mercy). The overall view in the evening, once the lights are turned on, with the fountains, waterfalls & MNAC at the back combined with the unfurling music & show is truly worth seeing.
