Fleischpflanzerl. Back to basics and Fleischpflanzerl the Bavarian version of Frikadeller (Danish-style meatballs). The round & flattened meat dumplings are made from minced beef & pork meat, eggs, onions & bread crumbs seasoned with salt, pepper, parsley, marjoram, nutmeg, garlic, and mustard.

The flattened balls are unlike other dumplings pan-fried in pig fat/butter/vegetable oil & served hot or cold with sauerkraut, red cabbage & fried potatoes or potato salad. For the ones that are fed up with meat, there is a popular variation that replaces meat with fish called fiskefrikadeller & is usually served with the mayonnaise-based remoulade.
