Casa Batlló

Casa Batlló is so surreal that one would think it’s been taken out of one of Tim Burton‘s movies. One of the two private houses designed by Spain’s most renowned architect & favorite child of Barcelona, Gaudí & can be visited today by everyone. Emblematic of Gaudi’s genius & originality this architectural prototype is located in the heart of the city & is a must-see for both its exterior & interior.

The whole structure is designed in a way that imitates the waving & irregular formations of the sea. The changing coloring of the glass, the fragmented ceramic discs & the animal-back shaped roof, and the balcony railings in the shape of masks, all together give the impression of a living & breathing organism. This modern masterpiece is a true feast for the eyes. More
